Teaching Assistant – Beacon Independent School

Salary: £22,601 – £35,259 (depending on experience)
Plus SEN Allowance: £2,787
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Term Time Only
Start Date: Flexible



Beacon Independent School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their best — both academically and personally.

You will work closely with teaching staff to support students in their learning and development, providing assistance both inside and outside the classroom. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and committed to making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the emotional and social development of students.
  • Implement agreed work programmes with individuals and small groups, inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of learning resources and      classroom environments.
  • Transport students as required, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour, following the school’s behaviour management policy.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams to provide high-quality support for all learners.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with children in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)     setting is an advantage.
  • A full, clean driving licence is desirable due to transport      responsibilities.
