Part-Time Teacher of English – Beacon Independent School

Salary: £32,916 – £45,352 pro rata (depending on experience)

SEN Allowance: £2,787
Hours:8:00am – 12:00pm, Term Time Only
Start Date: Flexible


Beacon Independent School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Part-Time Teacher of English to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, delivering engaging and accessible English lessons in a supportive environment.

We are looking for a teacher who can inspire, adapt, and connect — someone passionate about helping students achieve their potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to meet individual      student needs.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students in line with the school’s nurturing ethos.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to      support ongoing learning.
  • Prepare and maintain learning resources and support learning activities inside      and outside the classroom.
  • Transport students as required, ensuring their safety and      wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour in accordance with the school’s policy.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)     setting is an advantage.
  • A flexible, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learners with additional needs.
  • A full, clean driving licence is desirable due to transport responsibilities.
